DEVELOPMENT OF THE LANGUAGE SIGNS OF ALERT
FROM 0 TO 3 MONTHS
• Does not react to sounds someone’s voice.
• Does not smile.
• Does not maintain eye contact.
• Does not emit vocalizations.
FROM 12 TO 18 MONTHS
• Irritability and frequent tantrums.
• The first words do not appear.
• Misunderstanding of orders accompanied by gestures.
• Does not communicate through gestures. “goodbye”, “no”.
FROM 3 TO 4 YEARS
• Displays an incoherent way of speaking outside of the family context.
• Does not use phrases with more than 2 words.
• Does not ask questions like What? Where?.
• Difficulty of stablish relationships with other children.
FROM 6 TO 12 MONTHS
• Lack or little amount of babbling.
• Does not respond to changes in adult intonation.
• Do not turn on hearing his/her name.
• Does not understand familiar words of his environment.
• Does not point out.
FROM 2 TO 3 YEARS
• Use of phrases with only one word.
• Preference in the use of gestures instead of words or vocalizations.
• Does not use the word “me”.
• Does not understand simple orders.
• It is hard to understand what he/she says.
FROM 4 TO 5 YEARS
• Has difficulty playing with language (riddles, etc.).
• Has trouble telling simple facts.
